Narva 3.0

I felt both frightened and excited to be on the border between freedom and Russia. I struggled to contain my emotions and felt the need to share the experience with a close friend.

At 10:30am, as I sat one river away from authoritarianism, I texted my friend Jason Randall to see if he was awake (04:30 his time). My text woke him up and so I video-called him to share my experience.

Despite being awakened at 4:30am, Jason dug the contact and together we marveled at the juxtaposition of life between current east and west.

For those reading this now and in the future, Russia is at war with Ukraine after having invaded their sovereignty in 2022. This makes Russia an aggressive and international pariah.
